Join us for this hands-on, introductory course where you'll learn how to make a sourdough loaf to be proud of. You'll gain a solid understanding of the essential processes behind sourdough baking, all in a relaxed and supportive environment.
This is for One Person (over 18) to attend our Kidlington Store workshop.
During the course, we will:
• Make a sourdough loaf using simple, wholesome ingredients.
• Practice key techniques including stretching, folding, and shaping dough.
• Try your hand at scoring your loaf for that signature finish.
• Learn about baker’s percentages so you can start developing your own recipes.
• Explore how to care for and maintain your sourdough starter.
• Troubleshoot common baking issues and how to fix them.
• Use essential baking equipment — and discuss creative alternatives.
By the end of the course, you will:
• Take home a collection of delicious bakes you've created.
• Receive a jar of Barefoot Sourdough Starter to get you going.
• Get a printed or digital copy of all the recipes used during the session.
• Be given care notes for your starter, plus helpful baking tips.
• Leave with a suggested reading list and additional resources to continue your
sourdough journey.
Important to know:
• Class runs from 13:00 – 17:00.
• Snacks and refreshments will be provided during the session.
• Class sizes are small (maximum 5 participants) to ensure individual attention
and time for questions.
• Perfect for beginners — no prior bread or baking experience is needed.
• Be ready to roll up your sleeves and get sticky and floury!
